Our Vision & Values

Our Vision

Uniting generations and cultures,

Pursuing fully alive relationships,

Free in fearless faith,

Reaching out, walking with, and serving,

As Christ serves us.

Every local church is different and so our vision is not the same as every other church!  Our vision is not who we are!  It is not even who we see ourselves as.  The Immanuel vision is a statement of what we see God calling us to.  It is where we see God calling our Immanuel church community to go in coming years.  It was developed in 2011, starting with a long period of prayer and then a prayer summit of 60 of our leaders.  This vision statement is not a business tool or advertising slogan.  It’s summary of what we heard God calling us to be.  We still believe this is where God is calling our local church to go!  We regularly reassess our vision and pray for God’s guidance for the direction of our church.  But so far, we have not felt God calling us to change this yet…

If you’re thinking of joining our community and making Immanuel your spiritual home, then we want you to own this vision and join us in achieving it.

Immanuel is a Lutheran community.  This means that we are Christians first, but that we have a special history about how we got here and some culture that we value.  If you’re interested in how it all started why not read the first confession of Evangelical Christians written in 1530AD.   It might be called the first ‘Lutheran’ document.  It’s available here…  The Augsburg Confession
